The Maylone’s Story

After listening to Megan Allred, VP of Marketing, talk to about Credit Union features that assist with managing money and account options during the Hendrick Medical Center benefit fair, the Maylone’s decided to make the move to First Abilene FCU after continued struggles with service at a local bank.

Over the last 8-9 years the credit cards and other bills, accrued through student loans or vehicle repair costs, had added up. They were sticking to a strict budget, but weren’t making progress on getting the debt down, no matter how hard they tried. One of the Maylone’s favorite stories to tell is about the day they walked into our Catclaw location thinking they’d try one last time to get help structuring a healthy financial plan and
walked out one hour later with all their bills consolidated, a lower interest rate, and a lower monthly payment. Tyler Maylone said, “this is the first time in 6 ½ years my wife and I have had supreme confidence we will be debt free in the next few years. We owe it all to the people at FAFCU!”

Being a local financial institution, the children savings accounts options, and having access to so many ATMs in Abilene and across the country are a few of their favorite features. Once their debt is paid off, with the assistance of credit union staff and products, the Maylone’s are anxious to start doing more for their community and enjoying other hobbies. The Maylone’s moved to Abilene 6 years ago, because they love this great community and want to raise their 17-month-old son, Tee, here. In their spare time, they enjoy being together as a family, team roping, horse shows, hunting and working around their house on projects.
