Computer Systems Upgrade
The credit union will be CLOSED Monday, September 30th. All transactions following the close of business Saturday, September 28th will post on Tuesday, October 1st. As a result of the upgrade, First Abilene FCU will be able to provide its members with a convenient streamlined banking experience, existing and emerging technology, customizable online banking and real-time processing.
Why is First Abilene upgrading the core banking system?
We’re updating our core system to ensure we can provide the services members deserve today and continue to innovate in the future.
When will the core banking system upgrade occur?
The upgrade process will begin at 1:00pm on Saturday, September 28th and will be completed by Tuesday, October 1st.
Why did you choose that weekend to do the upgrade?
We understand that there is never a great time to limit services to our members; however, we examined several possible dates and determined that the weekend of September 28th – October 1st would present the best opportunity for a successful transition with the least amount of disruption to our members.
Will the credit union be secure while all this is going on?
Yes. As always, every precaution will be taken to ensure the security of all members, their account information and records while we implement this new system.
What should I do to prepare?
You should have to do very little. Because many of our services will be unavailable after we close Saturday, September 28th, until we re-open Tuesday, October 1st, we recommend that you look ahead regarding any financial matters and take care of any business before the close of business Saturday, September 28. Consider this maintenance period much as you would a federal holiday that falls on a Monday, such as Presidents’ Day or Martin Luther King Jr.’s Birthday. When we are closed on a Monday, those transactions take place on Tuesday.
How can I be sure that my account information will be correctly transferred to the new system?
We will be working within our new system in a test environment for several months. All your data will be verified, balanced, tested and reviewed to ensure accuracy.
Will my monthly statements remain the same?
As part of the core conversion, we are upgrading and improving your account statements. We will continue to deliver the same information you have come to expect. However, it will be presented in an updated format that is easier to understand.
What services will be available during the core upgrade process?
Debit cards, credit cards, and checks will be available to use normally during the upgrade.
What services will be unavailable during the core upgrade process?
Online and mobile banking, billpay, mobile check deposit, phone banking and e-statements will be unavailable from Saturday, September 28th at 1:00pm thru Monday, September 30th.
Will I be able to use my debit card and credit card during the upgrade process?
Yes, debit and credit cards will be available to use at any ATM and for purchases.
If I lose my debit or credit card on one of these days, what do I do?
You will still be able to report a lost or stolen debit/ATM card or credit card. For debit/ATM cards, call (888) 241-2510. For credit cards, call (855) 341-4651 . Your current card will be canceled, and you will be issued a new card.
Will online transfers between accounts be available?
No. This service will not be available from the close of business, Saturday, September 28th, through Monday, September 30th. Transfers you have scheduled ahead of time to run on Monday, September 30th will be run sometime before we re-open Tuesday, October 1st.
Will my billpay payees, billpay history and scheduled bill payments still be available after the upgrade?
Yes, all of these items will continue to be available after October 1st.
Will I be able to deposit my check using the mobile banking app during the closure?
No. Mobile banking will not be available while we implement the new system. It will be available for use again on Tuesday, October 1st.
I have recurring payments set up. Will I need to reschedule these payments?
If you have a recurring payment set up to run on Monday, September 30th, it may be delayed. Check with your payee to see if this slight delay makes a difference for your payment.
Will scheduled bills occur as they normally do?
There may be a slight delay (up to one day) if you have bills scheduled to be paid on Monday, September 30th.
Will I be able to log into FlexTeller to check the balance on my account(s)?
No, online banking will not be available from the close of business Saturday, September 28th, until we re-open on Tuesday, October 1st.
Will I be able to access firstabilenefcu.org?
Yes. You may access our website, but online banking will be unavailable after the close of business, Saturday, September 28th, until we re-open on Tuesday, October 1st.
Will my transaction history prior to the conversion be available after the conversion through online banking?
Yes, you’ll be able to see the same 12 months’ worth of transaction history with online banking as you did beforehand, plus your eStatements.
Will my First Abilene mobile banking app work?
No. Mobile banking will not be available during this conversion period. It will be available once again Tuesday, October 1st.
If I put something in the Night Deposit box after close of business on Friday, September 27th, when will it be processed?
Any item(s) put into a Night Deposit box after the close of business Friday, September 27th, will be processed Tuesday, October 1st.
