Gene & Charmaine Boone
When the Boone’s retirement account took a loss during the recession and health issues aroused they were faced with a difficult decision. Their lifelong dream of being full-time RVer’s had to come to an end. They approached the large bank where the motorhome was financed, but the bank would not accept any good offers for a short sale. On a limited fixed income they made the difficult decision to file bankruptcy on just the RV because the bank was not willing to work with them. After making that decision they went to talk with Paula Clowdus, Catclaw Branch Manager. “She could not have been more accommodating and encouraging to us, helping us understand that First Abilene would help us through this situation and would allow us to take care of our business and obligations,” said Gene. Their favorite thing about First Abilene is the great personal touch the personnel gives to them each time they walk into one of our lobbies or drive thru lanes. “We appreciate the heart that First Abilene shows through their actions every day,” said Charmaine. Now settled and retired the Boone’s enjoy walking, reading and staying involved with their church activities. They have three grown children, six grandchildren and one great grandson, of which they love watching grow and take active parts in all of their lives.
