Faye Smith Retires After 27 Years
It is with best wishes that First Abilene Federal Credit Union congratulates Faye Smith, President/CEO; on her retirement, effective March 31, 2016 after 27 years of employment. The members and staff of the credit union have greatly benefited from her remarkable dedication and leadership.
Faye started in 1989 when the credit union was located in the back of the Blood Bank, in a space smaller than 500 square feet. At that time, the credit union employed 3 staff members, served 2,165 members and was $3.8 million in assets.Through her contribution and leadership, First Abilene has grown to 10,659 members, $67.5 million in assets and 25 staff members.
Faye has been a passionate advocate for credit unions in our community and an example and educator of the credit union philosophy of “People Helping People.” After retirement Faye is looking forward to traveling abroad and across the country with her husband, Dale, and close friends. She also plans to consult small credit unions across the state.
