Important information for our members during the COVID-19 pandemic

Update: March 26, 2020

As our country has been faced with challenging times, First Abilene FCU wants to ensure you that we are thinking about you, your family members and friends dealing with the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.

In order to ensure the safety of our employees and members, beginning March 30, 2020 we will temporarily close our lobbies due to the current public health emergency. Drive-thrus will remain open from 7:30 am – 6:00 pm. While we will be limiting in-person access, staff WILL continue to support your needs by phone, e-mail and private appointments. We are an essential business, therefore our drive-thru will continue to extend services to include deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, cashier checks, money orders, check orders, account print outs and debit card disputes.

During this time, we strongly encourage you to utilize remote channels for your banking needs:

• Online Banking/Mobile App: Make payments on loans, pay bills, transfer funds, view transactions.
• ATMs
• By Phone at (325) 670.2429. Please be patient as we may experience a high volume of calls. In the case that the phone lines are busy, please e-mail our staff and a representative WILL return your call.

• Personal Appointments Available

This does not impact the safety of your deposits. As always, your money is secure with First Abilene FCU and is federally insured by the NCUA.

For the safety of our members, staff and community, we ask that you utilize the drive-thru for the same transactions that you may normally take care of inside the credit union.  We do ask for your patience, as you may experience longer wait times.

Online Banking                                                                                                                                                 

NetTeller, our FREE Online Banking service provides secure online access to your accounts wherever you have or use a personal computer. No software is needed, just a computer with internet access. You also have access to FREE Bill Pay, FREE E-Statements and FREE Mobile Banking with check images and much more.  NetTeller provides you with a real-time connection and a secure site in which to view account information.

Members can:

  • Review account history
  • Review recent check postings
  • Review deposit history
  • Balance your checkbook
  • Print your statement
  • Transfer funds between accounts
  • Transfer funds member to member
  • Request loan payoffs
  • Review withdrawals
  • Download files to your money management software
  • Receive E-Statements

Mobile Banking

This feature allows our members to check account balances, view transaction history, transfer funds, access and use Bill Pay, ATM locator and view check images all from their cell phone or mobile device.  To access your account through the app you will need to go to the Droid or Apple store and download the app to your device. Search “First Abilene FCU”. Once the app is downloaded you will log in. You will then need to enable device through either an email or website verification.

To access Mobile Banking through a browser on your web-enabled cell phone or PDA, go to www.firstabilenefcu.org. Sign into NetTeller using your normal username and password. From here you will be automatically be redirected to the mobile site.  If you are a current NetTeller (online banking) user you will automatically have access to Mobile Banking.  If you are not currently a NetTeller user, you will need to manually enroll online.

A Message from our President

At First Abilene FCU the health and well-being of our members, staff, and communities are our top priority. We understand the concern and uncertainty you may be experiencing surrounding the coronavirus (COVID-19) and are committed to serving your financial needs.

We continue to receive the most up-to-minute information and we’ve taken the follow actions to date:

  • Extending drive-thru services to include: deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, cashier checks, money orders, check orders, account print outs and debit card disputes. The drive-thru hours are 7:30am – 6:00pm.
  • In an effort to limit large gatherings, our Annual Meeting has been cancelled in an abundance of caution.
  • Increasing the frequency of regularly scheduled cleanings and sanitation of all areas of our offices.
  • We have shared with our employees the importance of hand-washing, social distancing, staying home when sick, and pausing all work travel.

To help us reduce face to face contact, we strongly encourage you to use our online banking and mobile app to access your accounts online. From there you can transfer funds, view transactions, check balances, make deposits and even make a loan payment.

If you haven’t enrolled in online banking, please visit firstabilenefcu.org and self-enroll by clicking on the Go to Online Banking button at the top right of your screen. If you need assistance, please contact our member service department at (325) 670.2429 or memberservices@firstabilenefcu.org.

We also understand that there may be instances where members find themselves facing financial difficulties, First Abilene FCU is here to help and we encourage those of you impacted to reach out and discuss how we can help.

A special response team is actively monitoring the quickly evolving situation and have contingency plans in place so there will not be interruptions in our service to our members.
