First Abilene’s Allred Graduates from CUNA Management School with Honors
Please join us in congratulating our Vice President of Operations, Megan Allred, on her recent graduation from Southwest CUNA Management School!
CUNA (Credit Union National Association) Management School is a three-year executive education program, designed specifically to develop and enhance leadership skills of credit union employees. Students attend classes and complete a strategic plan during the three-year period. SCMS is recognized in the credit union movement for innovative, intense, hands-on, professional development.
Not only did Megan earn her Certified Credit Union Executive designation, she was one of nine students in her class to receive the honors designation. To receive honors, students must create a comprehensive, high quality, strategic business plan for their credit union; illustrate on a broad level the potential impact of strategic decisions across operations; display a mastery of financial management; and successfully deliver multiple oral presentations.
Megan began her career at the credit union in 2011 serving as the Business Development Manager. Megan is very active in the community we serve as well as being an advocate for our industry. She represents the Abilene Chapter of Credit Unions on the Cornerstone Credit Union League Foundation, whose mission is to empower people to improve their financial well-being through education, professional development and disaster relief in Texas, Arkansas and Oklahoma.
She has served on many local community committees and boards including: United Way of Abilene Board of Directors, Legends Dove Hunt benefiting the Hendrick Children’s Hospital, Laura W. Bush Institute for Women’s Health Community Advisory Board, Abilene Cultural Affairs Council, Abilene Police Foundation, and Co-Founder of Abilene Operation Blue Santa. She is a 2013 graduate of the Abilene Chamber of Commerce Leadership Abilene program and the 2015 Citizens Police Academy. Megan was named Abilene Citizen of the Year in 2017 by the Abilene Police Department in recognition for her efforts to build a community of the highest quality for present and future generations.
When she is not working at the credit union or with members and organizations in the community we serve, she enjoys traveling with her husband, Jake. As well as, raising their herd of Registered Texas Longhorns. Congratulations Megan on this great accomplishment!
